Esse Vanderbruggen

Na haar afstuderen aan P.A.R.T.S. in 2012 begon Esse Vanderbruggen (BE) te werken als freelance performer, outside eye en movement advisor voor verschillende dans-, theater- en circusgezelschappen in België en in het buitenland, waaronder Vera Tussing, Kubilai Khan Investigations, Not Standing/Alexander Vantournhout, Petite Foule Production, Collectif Malunés, Isabella Soupart en Compagnie Monica en Lee/Vakulya. Sinds 2012 werkte ze nauw samen met Vera Tussing en sloot ze aan bij haar onderzoek naar tactiliteit, collectiviteit en consent in dans en performance. Als performer, repetitor en outside eye werkt Esse momenteel samen met Not Standing (Contre-Jour, SCREWS, Foreshadow, every_body, Souvenirshop, Frames), Petite Foule Production (Le Tir Sacré, Bataille Générale, Âmes coming), Collectif Malunés en theater FroeFroe / Tina Heylen (Fall).

Esse Vanderbruggen, Chia-Hung Chung, Axel Guérin and Emmi Väisänen are, together with Alexander Vantournhout, the core of Not Standing’s artistic team. They have been with the company for several years and created and performed several shows together. They have a deep understanding of Not Standing's movement language and take on different artistic roles— as performers, teachers, rehearsal directors, artistic assistants or even technical build-up crew. These performers not only embody but also expand and enrich the movement language, contributing to the growth of the artistic Not Standing-universe.
